Smart Compose™
Smart Compose™ identifies people in photos and determines a “safe zone” around that person or group of
people. Once it has determined that safe zone, it can then automatically fit that image into any frame while
protecting the people from being covered or cropped away. Smart Compose™ also has an internal scoring system
that can process a series of frames or templates and determine which frame is the best fit for any given
image, maximizing the complimentary shape of a frame and the content of the image. Smart Compose™ speeds up
the process of creating photo cards and photo books.

Smart Crop™
Find people in photos and automatically crops images while leaving the people untouched. Images
are often shot at one aspect ratio and printed at another. For example, a digital camera will take a
picture at 4x3 aspect ratio while most standard printers print at 4x6. This requires that some sort of
cropping of the image occurs to fit the image into the print area. Normally an arbitrary area of the
image is cut away. With Smart Crop™, the people are automatically protected while unimportant areas of
the picture are cropped away!
